Sayyid Allama Muhammad b. Muhammad al-Mansuur

- Is a scholar of independent judgement (mujtahid), methodologist (usuuli) and an ascetic.

- Was born in Shahaara 8 Jumaada al-Awla 1333 AH.

- Moved to the capital Sanaa in 1388 AH.

- Took knowledge of the sacred sciences from the scholars of Sanaa and Dhimaar.

- Was appointed the clerk of the Royal Crown in Ta’izz in 1364 before the Revolution.

- Was appointed the assistant to the Secretary of State.

- Was appointed overseer of trusts and bequests.

- Was appointed Minister of Ministers of the union between Yemen and Egypt in Cairo.

- Was appointed a member of the Leadership Council after the Revolution.

- Was appointed Minister of Justice from 1384 AH to 1387.

- Was appointed Minister of Endowments and Guidance, and a member of the Constituent Assembly (House of Representatives).

- Was a member of the Islamic Shariah Legislature.

- Still in charge of overseeing trusts and bequests.

- Still conducts lessons and classes as well as issues fatawa in Sanaa.

- Has a share in the founding of the Hizb al-Haqq party in Yemen and serves as advisor.

- Is one of the most important current References in the Zaydi madhhab.

- Authored a several texts, which include:
1. Qadisiya al-Imaan—a qasiida (religious poem) related to the hadith ((Belief is Yemeni))
2. Barq al-Yamaani—which is a commentary on the aforementioned qasiida
3. Ta’liqaat ‘ala Amaali Imam Abu Taalib—a commentary on selected hadith and narrations of the Amaali of Imam Abu Taalib.
4. Hikmat al-Hijaab—a treatise dealing with the wisdom of the headscarf.
5. Al-Kalimat ash-Shaafi’a—a treatise dealing with the struggle between ‘Ali (as) and Mu’awiya (la).
6. Al-Qadaa wa al-Qadr—text on Destiny and Predeterminism.
7. Maqtatafaat fi at-Tafsir—A text on selected Quranic exegesis.
