Maqtal Hussain (عليه السلام) by Abu Mikhnaf and Other Histories

Thank you for your questions! As for the works of Abu Mikhnaf, they are quoted and referenced in Zaydi books similar to at-Tabari and others. I don't know if Maqtal al-Hussein (as) is quoted specifically.

Zaydis have their own books of history, most of which focuses on the lives of the Prophet and imams. Tuhfat az-Zalaf is one of them. Al-Ifaada is another as well as Al-Masaabiih. There are also biographical works that focus on the Imams individually.
