What is the difference between Az-Zaydiyyah Al-Hadawiyyah and Az-Az-Zaydiyyah Al-Qasimiyyah? Is there a slight difference in fur'u or simply some different fiqh opinions as the Ahnaf have different opinions from Muhammad ash-Shaybani and Abu Yusuf?
Salaams!

That's an interesting question. I guess the answer depends on who you ask. There are some riwayaat and aqwaal in which Imam al-Qaasim (as) and Imam al-Haadi (as) seemingly differ on some fiqhi matters. However, this is usually countered by the fact that:

A.) Imam al-Haadi (as) in his Al-Ahkaam quotes extensively from his grandfather's fatawa. Indeed, he establishes Imam Rassi's (as) fatawa and jurisprudential positions as proofs similar to the Book and Sunnah.

B.) There are fewer in the chain of transmission between him and Imam Rassi (as). There is actually only his father between the two of them. Whereas other riwaaya have multiple people between the narrator and Imam ar-Rassi (as).

C.) The chain of al-Haadi--al-Haadi's father--al-Qaasim is considered stronger not only because of the shortness of the sanad but also the status of those in the sanad.

Therefore, any apparent difference between the two are based on weak reports or a need for ta`wil to reconcile them.

And Allah knows best!
