Bada'

Thank you for your question! As for the concept of Bada, that is the altering of Allah’s will and plans, the Zaydis categorically reject such concept as it entails that Allah’s knowledge is not perfect. Such change and substitution is only possible in spatial-temporal creation and thus, not befitting of Allah.

According to our sources, such doctrine was promoted by those who say that Allah's choice of Isma'il b. Ja'far as imam was redirected towards Musa b. Ja'far after the former died in his father's lifetime. The doctrine of bada was developed to justify such inconsistency. [Ref. Al-Bahr az-Zakhkhaar and Al-Jawaab al-Kaashif]
