Thank you for your question! As for the list of major sins, The major sins of the heart include: despair of Allah’s mercy, insistence of disobeying Allah, associating partners with Allah and despair of Allah’s mercy. The major sins of the tongue include: lying, gossiping, magic, backbiting, falsely accusing innocent women, false oaths and false witness. The major sins of the stomach include: consuming usury, consuming the wealth of the orphan and intaking intoxicants. The major sins of the hands include: injuring a Muslim, unlawful manslaughter and theft. The major sins of the private parts include: fornication and homosexuality. The major sin of the feet is fleeing from the battlefield. The major sin of the body is ingratitude towards the parents.

Some of our imams include the following: showing-off, eating meat not slaughtered correctly, lying on Allah or His Messenger, withholding testimony without right, violating the oath of allegiance to the rightful imam, accepting bribes, oppression, wrongfully making takfir on a believer or declaring a believer a faasiq, avoiding the prayer without excuse and breaking the covenant with a dhimmi.

And Allah knows best!

Replied by Mohammad on topic List of the Major sins
al-Imām Aḥmad b. Yaḥyā (may Allāh be pleased with him said): In the book of Allāh (Blessed and Exalted is He) there are fourteen major sins, if one were to act upon any of them and die without repentance they will enter the hellfire:

The first of them is: Shirk (associating partners with Allah Blessed and Exalted is He) and that is due to His saying in Sūrat al-Hajj - [31] -: {For whoever associates ˹others˺ with Allah is like someone who has fallen from the sky and is either snatched away by birds or swept by the wind to a remote place}.

The second is: Unjustly consuming the wealth of the orphans, and that is due to the saying of Allāh (Blessed and Exalted is He) in Sūrat an-Nisā -[10] -: {Indeed, those who unjustly consume orphans’ wealth ˹in fact˺ consume nothing but fire into their bellies. And they will be burned in a blazing Hell!}.

The third is: Consuming interest, Allāh (Blessed and Exalted is He) said: {Those who consume interest will stand ˹on Judgment Day˺ like those driven to madness by Satan’s touch} [al-Baqarah: 275].

The fourth is: Slandering pious, and chaste women. Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said in Sūrat al-Nūr -[23]-: {Surely those who accuse chaste, unsuspecting, believing women are cursed in this life and the Hereafter. And they will suffer a tremendous punishment} [al-Nūr: 23].

The fifth is: Fleeing from battle, and that is by His saying (Blessed and Exalted is He) in - Sūrat al-Anfāl -[15]-: {O believers! When you face the disbelievers in battle, never turn your backs to them}.

The sixth is: estrangement after emigration and that is by His saying (Glorious is He) in - Sūrat Muhammad upon him be peace -[25]-: {Indeed, those who relapse ˹into disbelief˺ after ˹true˺ guidance has become clear to them, ˹it is˺ Satan ˹that˺ has tempted them, luring them with false hopes}.

The seventh is: Killing a believer, and that is by His saying (Blessed and Exalted is He) in Sūrat - al-Nisā -[93]-: {And whoever kills a believer intentionally, their reward will be Hell—where they will stay indefinitely. Allah will be displeased with them, condemn them, and will prepare for them a tremendous punishment}.

The eighth is: Parental disobedience, and that is by His saying (Glorious is He) in Sūrat Banī Isrā’īl -[al-Isrā: 23]-: {Never say to them ˹even˺ ‘ugh,’ nor yell at them. Rather, address them respectfully}. Thereafter, he mentioned after that Sūrat al-An’ām -[151]- and it is His saying (Blessed and Exalted is He): {Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Come! Let me recite to you what your Lord has forbidden to you: do not associate others with Him ˹in worship˺. ˹Do not fail to˺ honour your parents}.

The ninth is: Men sufficing with men, and it is by His saying (Blessed and Exalted is He) in praising His Prophet Lūt (upon him be peace), and mentioning his people in Sūrat Ash-Shu’arā - [165, 166]- wherein He states: {Why do you ˹men˺ lust after fellow men, * leaving the wives that your Lord has created for you? In fact, you are a transgressing people}. Thereafter, he mentioned what was revealed regarding them in Sūrat Hūd (upon him be peace) -[82]- and it is His saying (Blessed and Exalted is He): {[We] rained down on them clustered stones of baked clay}.

The tenth is: fornication, and it is His saying in Sūrat Banī Isrā’īl -[32]-: {Do not go near adultery. It is truly a shameful deed and an evil way}.

The eleventh is: Bearing false witness, and that is His saying (Glorious is He) in Sūrat al-Furqān -[72]-: {˹They are˺ those who do not bear false witness, and when they come across falsehood, they pass ˹it˺ by with dignity}.

The twelfth is: Concealing testimony, and that is His saying (Blessed and Exalted is He) in Sūrat al-Baqarah -[140]-: {Who does more wrong than those who hide the testimony they received from Allah? And Allah is never unaware of what you do}.

The thirteenth is: Spreading corruption in the world, and that is His saying (Blessed and Exalted is He) in Sūrat al-Mā’idah -[33]-: {Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and spread mischief in the land is death, crucifixion, cutting off their hands and feet on opposite sides, or exile from the land. This ˹penalty˺ is a disgrace for them in this world, and they will suffer a tremendous punishment in the Hereafter}.

The fourteenth is: Harming the believers, and that is by His saying (Glorious is He) in Sūrat al-Ahzāb -[58]-: {As for those who abuse believing men and women unjustifiably, they will definitely bear the guilt of slander and blatant sin}.

He is: al-Imām al-Nāṣir Aḥmad b. al-Imām al-Hādī ilal-Ḥaqq (Guide to the Truth) Yaḥyā b. al-Ḥusayn b. al-Qāsim b. Ibrāhīm b. Ismā’īl b. al-Ḥasan b. al-Ḥasan b. ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib (a.s).

- d. 315 AH, and it has been said 322, 324, and 325 AH.
