Demise of Fatima(RA)

We know that all the children of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) died before the demise of the prophet except Fatima (RA). She died after six months of prophet's demise.What are the reasons behind this?

She, al-Zahra عليها السلام, died of Grief and Sickness. That´s the accepted Explanation.

wa alaikumus salam wa rahmatullah,

there are many different riwayat which have been spread by the enemies of the ahl al bayt, so that many people believe that the beloved daugther of rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa salama was hurt in her own house. The riwayat of the ahl al bayt, the riwayat of the Imams of the Zaydiyya, draw a quite different picture of the situation. I have not much time but will cite some references, first about the hurting of al-Zahra alayha as salam:

روى أبو عبد الله العلوي رحمه الله في كتاب تسمية من روى عن زيد بن علي .
قال :-
أخبرنا محمد بن علي بن الحكم الهمداني القارئ قراءة، قال: أخبرني محمد بن عمار العطار قراءة، قال: حدثنا أبو عمرو أحمد بن خازم، عن علي، قال: حدثنا أبو غسان، قال: حدثنا يحيى بن سلمة، قال: أخبرني أبي،

عن أبي الحسين زيد بن علي قال: قلت له: إن الناس يَزْعُمُون أن فاطمة لُطِمَت ، قال: كانت أكرم على أهلها من ذلك يا أبا يحيى

Abu Abdullah Al-Alawi, may God have mercy on him, narrated in his book "Naming Those Who Narrated from Zaid bin Ali":

He said: Muhammad bin Ali bin Al-Hakam Al-Hamdani, the reciter, informed us by way of oral transmission. He said: Muhammad bin Ammar Al-Attar informed me by oral transmission, who said: Abu Amr Ahmad bin Khazim narrated to us from Ali, who said: Abu Ghasan narrated to us, who said: Yahya bin Salamah narrated to us, who said: My father informed me,

on the authority of Abu Al-Husayn Zaid bin Ali, who said: I asked him, “People claim that Fatimah was struck.” He replied, “She was too honored by her family for that, O Abu Yahya!”

About the cause of her death it can be inferred by the different riwayat on her demise and how fast it was in one particular riwayah it is said:

روى أبو العباس احمد الحسني:
أخبرنا أبو أحمد الأنامطي باسناده عن عبد الله بن بريدة قال: ما لبثت فاطمة بعد النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم إلا سبعين يوما و ليلة يروون أنها كمدت عليه......(267, المصابيح في سيرة الرسول و آل البيت)

Abu Al-Abbas Ahmad Al-Hasani narrated:

Abu Ahmad Al-Anmati informed us, with his chain of transmission from Abdullah bin Buraidah, who said: “Fatimah did not remain after the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, except for seventy days and one night. They narrate that she grieved deeply over him...”

(Al-Masabih fi Sirat al-Rasul wa Al al-Bayt, p. 267).

For more specific reference i need to consult the books of the ulama again but for now i dont have much more time so please look into the books of the ulama for further information.

Does anyone know of the veracity of the following narrations?

“Abu Bakr said to Omar, gather a group and break the door of this man (Ali b. Abi Talib), so Omar and those who were with him stood up to the door of Ali AS and they struck the door. Fatima AS defended the door but he (Omar) pushed her and she fell to the ground. Fatima AS pleaded to Umar to not enter the door for her hair is uncovered, Omar replied “Take your thawb (dress) for I am entering”. Fatima AS pleaded once more so he (Omar) pushed herand entered with his companions. She stood up between them and the Bayt (room) that Ali AS was in, while she saw that her rights upon them held priority over the rights of Ali AS over them due to her weakness and closeness to the Prophet SAWA, so Khalid b. al-Walid rushed to her and hit her with a whip on her upper arm and she cried in pain from that, and then al-Zubayr came out with his sword, and Abdullah b. Abi Bay’ah took the sword from al-Zubayr’s hands and hit it until it broke, so they then entered and forcefully brought out Ali AS until he gave bay’ah to Abu Bakr”
