Is this voluminous work by Al Ghazali in contrast to fundamental Zaidi belief?

Salam, I found the complete set for 'ihya uloom al-deen by Al Ghazali for a reasonable price and was wondering if the respected brothers would recommend, or see no issue in me purchasing this work. Al Ghazali is known for his great contribution to Islam by virtue of creating a more moderate sufi/irfani understanding towards our rituals and daily acts of worship, I figured it would be a great read and a means to incorporate - in perspective - when it comes to daily acts of worship, etc. As Hikmah is the lost luggage of the believer in the words of Imam Ali. Or should I stick to the works of our Zaidi Imams/Scholars instead? Of course I do plan on reading said works of 'ibadat, I enjoy dipping into a multitude of sources and areas, as long as they are not problematic on the general level.

Salaams!

Thank you for your question!

I can't discourage anyone from engaging any text that they may deem as beneficial. However, I would only advise that they be firm in their own belief so that they are not swayed by any faulty arguments. If you think that you can take benefit from the Ihya, why not read it? However, you should have a firm enough foundation in your own school.

One example is the Duha and Taraweeh prayers. I'm pretty sure that the Ihya emphasises the Duha and Taraweeh prayers but as Zaydis, we don't pray them.

Do you know enough about your own school to know whether a practice is okay to do or an innovation according to our imams? This is for you to decide.

And Allah knows best!
