A summary of points taken from the chapter of wearing rings from Al-Mukhtar min Sahih Al-Ahadith wa Al-Athar by Sayyid Muhammad bin Yahya Al-Houthi (HA).

Regarding men wearing rings, it is the consensus of Zaydi Imams that wearing rings on right hands is the practice of Ahl al-Bayt (AS).

Imam Yahya bin Al-Husayn (AS) said that the Prophet (SAWS), Imam Ali (AS), Imam Al-Hasan (AS) and Imam Al-Husayn (AS) wore rings on their right hands. Imam Ali Ar-Rida (AS) also said that his father Imam Musa Al-Kathim (AS) wore a ring on his right hand.

The Prophet (SAWS) clearly instructed to wear rings made from 'aqiq/carnelian stone.

Imam Ali (AS) said that the Prophet (SAWS) prohibited men from wearing gold rings. Women can wear gold rings. Men wear silver rings, and there is no problem for women to wear silver too.

The correct position for the ring is the little finger of the right hand. It is also permissible on the little finger of the left hand, but that is less preferred. It is recommended that the weight of the ring be one and a half dirhams. The setting of the ring should face the palm for a man and face outwards for a woman, to show off the adornment. One ring per hand is the general rule. Wearing two rings on one hand or on both hands is not permitted. Exception: It is permitted to wear a silver ring and an agate ring together.

 - Al-bayān al-shāfī al-muntaẓa' min al-burhān al-kāfī.

Al-Hadi (peace be upon him) said [Vol. 6, p. 416]: My father narrated to me, from his father: that he was asked about men wearing rings? So, he said: There is no objection to that as long as it is not gold.

from Ali (peace be upon him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: ((Wear a ring of Carnelian (Aqeeq); for indeed, no one among you will be afflicted by sorrow as long as he wears it))

It is sunnah to wear the ring on the right pinky (Ref. Al-Bahr)

And in Al-Jami' Al-Kafi [Vol. 2, p. 238]: Al-Hasan and Muhammad said: It is disliked for a man to wear a gold ring, but there is no harm for a woman, and there is no harm in a silver ring for both a man and a woman.
