Fatwa: Menstruation and the Qur'an was created by Imam Rassi Society

Question: What is the judgement regarding the menstruating woman or the woman with lochia reciting the Qur’an in order to study or memorise it out of necessity, such as a student or teacher?

Fatwa:

These are not necessities. It is impermissible to recite the Qur’an—not even a verse or a letter—if one is in the state of major ritual impurity, menstruation or lochia.

Thank you for all this fatawa from Sayyid Allama Muhammad bin Abdul-Azeem al-Houthi !

Is it possible to recite verses of protection like Ayat Al Kursi or Al Mu'awwidhatayn in state of janaba ?

It is impermissible to recite any portion of the Qur'an while in the state of major or minor ritual impurity.
