Combining Salah was created by Zulfiqar313

Asalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatu

I wanted to ask, when combining Salah does one pray 2 rakat Dhuhr then 2 rakat Asr, or does one pray 4 rakat Dhuhr then 4 rakat Asr?

wa alaykum as salaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

Thank you for your question! When combining the prayers during travel, you would pray two rakaats for Dhuhr and two for 'Asr. When a resident, you would pray four rakaats for Dhuhr and four for 'Asr.

This would also mean that when you’re combining prayers while not in a state of travelling or having an illness, you would pray 3 rakat maghrib and 4 rakat Isha? Also would we have to make the iqama for each prayer if we’re combining?

Thank you for your questions!

Yes, you would combine Maghrib (3 rakaats) and Isha (4 rakaats) one after the other with an iqaama before and between them.
