Salam Alaikum, I am a high school student and Ramadan is coming up and my dad who is sunni makes me go to pray taraweeh in jamaat with him, my concern is that is praying Taraweeh in congregation valid as long as i dont believe its something part of the deen but something casual without any increased virtue in it. I usually try praying at home but my dad wants me to go pray taraweeh with him and i dont want to cause distance or arguments between him and me.

wa alaykum as salaam wa rahma!
Thank you for your question! It is unfortunate that the innovation of Taraweeh has created a host of other innovations! For example, why would some Sunnis overemphasise the Taraweeh more than the obligatory prayers in the masaajid?! May Allah help us!
Anyway, to get to your question, if you are forced to go to Taraweeh, you could simply stand in the prayer line and mimic the prayer without intending the prayer with the congregation. When you get home, you can then pray the voluntary prayers on your own.
Hope this helps! And Allah knows best!

I'm not sure what you mean. I think what I stated was pretty clear. You just stand with the congregation without intending the prayer; you simply mimic the prayer in the prayer line. No one, including your respected father, has to know that you are not praying. Afterwards, when you go home, you pray by yourself.
And Allah knows best!

as salamu alaikum,
but i dont think that is the way of the ahl al bayt to mimick prayer. never would Amir al Mumineen alayhi salam nor any of our great Imams alayhim as salam do such things, the Ahl al Bayt and their Shia the Zaydiyya stand for boldness and religious sterness i dont think they would ever approve such things except in case of danger. its a form of deception. no man of honor should do such a thing.
