Basmala before wudhu was created by Hamdaan

Salam Alaikum, Is it Wajib to say the Basmala before wudhu?

wa alaykum as salaam wa rahma!

It is waajib to recite the basmala in the wudu for the one who remembers. As for the one who forgets, the wudu will still be valid. But at the point that you remember, you must recite it. The wudu would be invalid otherwise.
