Q : What is the ruling on the use of Trumpets and Drums.

A : Al-Kāfī says: There is no disagreement that it is permissible to strike the drum, trumpet (nafīr), or cymbals (ṣanj) made of copper on copper, provided it is not in musical tones associated with sinful melodies.
