Q : What acts should one do on Eid Al Ghadeer?
A : It is Mustahab to fast unlike Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha, fasting on those days are Haram.
It is narrated from the Prophet ( Peace and blessings be upon him ) that whomsoever that fasts on 18 Zul Hijjah, Allah shall reward them equal to sixty months (fasting). Imam Murshidbillah, peace be upon him, in his Amali Al Khamisah, Al Hakim Al Hasakani, Ibn Maghazali, Sibt bin Jawzi and others narrated it.
It is Mustahab on the day of Ghadeer to pray two Rakaat before mid-day. One should recite in every Rakaat surah Fatiha and ten times surah al Ikhlas, surah al Qadr and ten times Ayat al Kursi. This is mentioned by Qadhi Abdullah bin Zaid Al Ansi in Al Irshad and Faqih Al Ullama Abdullah Al Hasan Al Duwaari in Al Dibaj. It is also narrated by Al-Amir Al Husain, peace be upon him, in Al Shifaa from Abi Ja'far in Al Kafi that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said such and such as mentioned by Imam Ali.
