Fasting on Mawlid

Question:
Is it valid to fast on the day of the Prophet’s birthday (Mawlid an-Nabawi)?
Answer:
It is valid, as long as one does not believe it is recommended (mandūb) to fast on that day.

يصح من غير اعتقاد أنه مندوب.
