Fatwa : Listening to songs

Q : What is the ruling on listening to songs, with evidence? And what is the fate of one who dies while listening to songs, knowing that they are forbidden?

A : Listening to songs is not permissible. Refer to the book Al-Balāgh an-Nāhī fī Taḥrīm al-Aghānī by our Shaykh, the Imam, the proof (al-Ḥujjah), Majd al-Dīn al-Mu’ayyidī, may Allah encompass him in His mercy. In it are sufficient evidences regarding this matter.
