salamun aleikum,
Are there authentic aathar/ahaadith tracing back to rasuluLlah, sallAllahu aleihi wa Aali wa sallam, or to 'Ali, radiAllahu anhu, with regards to the correct understanding of attributes of Allah, subhaanaHu, like al-istiwaa and al-'uluu?
If yes, could you share some of them please?
I ask because some people say that there was a consensus among sahabah in favor of the modern "salafi"-Aqida. Unfortunately, I recently even faced brothers that supported takfir on those who make ta'weel of the Aayaat of al-istiwaa and al-'Uluu. May Allah protect us from falsehood and injustice.
To me, such a "salafi"-supporting consensus seems very unlikely, as there are numerous Aqiida schools tracing back to the salaf, among them the madhaahib of Ahlul-Bayt, the Ibaadiyyah, Mu'tazilah etc., that do not agree with this type of modern salafi Aqiidah. Even Maaturidiyyah trace their Aqiidah back to Abu Hanifa, who was from the salaf.
So concerning this issue of Qur'an Aayaat about al-istiwa al-'Uluu, please provide authentic, and if possible, mutawaatir ahaadith tracing back to RasuluLlah (saw) , Ali ibn Abii, Al-Hasan or al-Husain, aleihim assalam.
