In 4:158, Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, is said to have been raised up to Allah and in 19:57, Prophet Idris, peace be upon him, is said to have been raised to a high station. How have the Ahl Al Bayt interpreted these verses?

wa alaykum as-salam,

As for Isa -alayhi as-salam- the general opinion among the zaydi scholarship is a physical raising, some are of the opinion that it means caused to die.
As for Idris -alayhi as-salam- it is a raising in rank/honor:

Imam Badr al-Din Ibn Amir al-Din al-Huthi -alayhi as-salam- said in his tafseer:

“[Remember] when Allah said: ‘O Jesus, I will take you (mutawaffīka) and raise you up to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve.’” (Qur’an 3:55)

His saying {إِذْ} (idh / ‘when’) is a temporal expression. If it is connected to the phrase referring to Allahs’s plotting (makr Allāh), then it functions as an adverbial clause of time; but if the meaning is “and remember when Allah said,” then it serves as a direct object of the verb “remember.”

As for His saying {مُتَوَفِّيكَ} (“I will take you”), it is like His saying:

“Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that have not died during their sleep.” (Qur’an 39:42)

And His saying {وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا}“and raising you up to Me and purifying you from those who disbelieve” — means:
purifying you from their defilement, so that they will not reach you by killing or capturing you, nor will you have to hear their vile speech.

Imam al-Mahdi al-Ayyani -alayhi as salam- said in his tafseer:

“And [We raised him] to a high station.” (Qur’an 19:57)
Meaning: a station of great excellence and high virtue.

Imam Abu al-Fath al-Daylami alayhi as-salam said in his tafseer:

“Rather, Allah raised him up to Himself.” (Qur’an 4:158)

Meaning: Allah raised him to a realm where no human authority or rule applies.
Thus, his being raised to a state beyond the reach of human judgment or control is what is meant by “Allah raised him up to Himself.”

His saying, exalted is He:

“…and We raised him to a high station.” (Qur’an 19:57)

means: to the highest place and rank,
that is, to an exalted position in status and honor.

wa salam
