Qur’an was created by flower
I have a few questions about Qur’anic interpretations.

Is the Qur’an read by the followers of Zayd from the perspective and interpretations of the ahl-al bayt exclusively, scholarly works, or from one’s own understanding? It is my understanding that Zaydis do not adhere to taqlid, so what is the methodology for the Zaydi to understand the Qur’an? How can we access Zaydi Quranic interpretations (including Arabic ones)?

salaams!

Thank you for your questions! I would say that the Zaydi position in terms of the Qur'an is that of somewhat free interpretation but relegated by the interpretations of the imams of Ahl al-Bayt (as). By that, I mean that our imams encourage contemplation and reflection of Allah's Book as an injunction from Allah. However, whenever there is confusion or the possibility of misinterpretation and ambiguity, one is to rely on the methodology of the Ahl al-Bayt.

In his treatise, Refutation of the Extremist Rafidites, Imam Rassi (as) faults the Imami Shi'a for abandoning the Qur'an in favour of the interpretations of their 'imams.' Yet, in his other treatises, he confidently declares the imams of Ahl al-Bayt (as) as the 'inheritors' of the Qur'an and the references to whom we should turn for its right interpretation. Thus, although we are free to employ various methodologies in its interpretation, we are to turn to the imams in the case of disagreement. According to the imam, this can be seen in the preponderance of doctrines such as Predestination and Corporeality, which are said to be based on Qur'anic interpretation. However, had the holders of these doctrines adhered to the interpretation of the imams, they would not have gone astray.

Hopefully, I've answered your question! And Allah knows best!
