Zaydis and the "Raafida"

Salaam Alaykum, I am a twelver shia (rafidha) and many times salafis tell me that zaydis narrate that the shia abandoned Zayd Ibn Ali (as) because he refused to curse abu bakr and umar. Is this story really a belief of the zaydi shia brothers?/
