wa alaykum as salaam!

Thank you for your question! As for the Zaydi belief comparing the Companions and the Ahl al-Bayt (as), we say that there is no comparison to the Ahl al-Bayt. They have unique virtues that are specifically for them and no one else. This can be proven by the Quran, mutawaatir ahadith, as well as the statements of the Ahl al-Bayt themselves.

The Sahaba have virtue and a high station; however, they cannot compare to the Prophet's Progeny.

Thank you for your answer !

I ask you another question to be sure that I understand your sayings :

Is a Fatimi person who is neither a scholar nor a saint - just a normal Muslim in his knowledge and practice - better than the Praised Companions 'Ammar Ibn Yasir or Hudhayfah Ibn Al Yaman (radiya Llahu 'anhuma) ?

Thank you for your question!

We must first clarify that when we say Ahl al-Bayt (as), we are referring to the Companions of the Cloak (ashaab ul-kisaa): Ali, Fatima, al-Hasan and al-Hussein exclusively. Upon all of them be peace! As for your question, a Fatimi who is a regular Muslim is not better than the praised Companions you mentioned because of the exclusive virtues mentioned by the Prophet, salla Allahu alayhi wa alihi wa sallam, for these Companions. Whereas the average Fatimi sayyid is not guaranteed Paradise or mentioned with virtues exclusive to them.

And Allah knows best!

> For this reason, we even deny the Islam of Mu'awiya and Yazid (la).

Is this the same for Abū Sufyān as well, or is he accepted as a believer by the Zaydīs?

Thank you for your question! As for the Zaydi view of Abu Sufyaan, I haven't come across anything that explicitly denies his Islam. As far as my research, he never really manifested any open evidence of kufr or nifaaq. However, that is not to say that he is not viewed suspiciously.
