Following Sunni or twelver Hadeeth. was created by Hamdaan
Salam Alaikum, If i as a Zaydi take rulings on some issues from Imami Or Sunni Hadeeths while ensuring that they dont go against any ijma of Ahl Bayt and cross checking them with zaydi sources as well, is this permissible and in line with the values and tradition of zaydism?

wa alaykum as salaam wa rahma!
Thank you for your question! I have a question for you: If you already know the Zaydi rulings, what would be the need to follow Sunni or 12er hadiths? Also, if you already have access to Zaydi sources to compare to these hadiths, wouldn't it make it redundant to follow these hadiths?

I dont have full access to all the zaydi sources and i am keen on finding different ijtihad in certain matters from different imams of ahlul bayt and i mean no disrespect whatsoever but i think zaydism when it comes to fiqh is highly focused on Imam Hadi AS and i wish to learn different opinions from different imams and try following one of their opinions according to the best of my understanding and not out of desires. we have over a 100 imams and i feel that all their opinions on fiqh should be examined and considered when applying islamic law. obviously in certain matters there is ijma of ahlul bayt and im not going against established ijmaa. but in matters of differences i feel that we should be able to check the rulings of different imams and their evidences and come to a conclusion on a particular issue. ( when i cannot come to a conclusion of a particular issue i follow the tradional hadawi opinion )

I follow Imam Hadis ( upon him be peace ) rulings in majority of my practices but in some cases i refer to Imam Nasir AS and other imams and narrations from the Amali of Imam Ahmad bin Isa AS.

as salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
akhil kareem, that you have to ask such questions online is enough proof against your Nafs in front of Allah, so beware and have taqwa. You cannot deduce rulings from the Ahadith which you read (by the way maybe not even in the original arabic) in the Books of any Firqah. Hadiths are not proofs in themselves but only in connection with quran, tafaqquh (the proper understanding of law) and the knowledge on the details of the arabic language especially in the way how the Prophet and his Itrah alayhi as salam and the Ashab radiyallahu anhum have used it.
As for the Ahadith of the Shia in general, unfortunately, the other furaq of the shia are full of liars against the itrah, because of this their books are not reliable.
As for the Amma (Sunnis) they have better sources but have mixed it with much falsehood because of their distillation of the hadiths on ground of aqidaa. They have weakened many scholars of ahadith when these scholars transmitted things which went against the sunni position, and their hadith corpus is a reflection of a reduced history.
If you dispute with a Sunni who has some knowledge, he may claim that they have authenticated many Shia or Nasibi scholars and that this is proof that they are not biased. However, this is not true and indicates either that he has not thought about it much or that he is deliberately lying to you, because they only refrained from weakening a narrator if he was not transmitting things that went against their madhab.
If you want to read hadith you can do that (try to get zaydi books of hadith) but if you are not a scholar it is haram for you to even try to deduce a ruling.
Beware.
