Dear Brother, you're either a mujtahid doing ijtihad or a muqallid following a scholar, there is no way you can arrive on opinions on your own.

Maybe your confused with what i meant to say. What i mean is cant i as A Zaydi check the opinions of suppose Imam Hadi AS and Imam Nasir AS and check their proofs regarding that issue and whether its in line with the Quran and Authentic Sunnah and not against the ijmaa of ahl bayt. and choose between those 2 opinions Based on their evidences and follow one of the imams ruling on that issue. Most likely towards the opinion which has more strength and is safer to follow. Doesnt Allah reward one for trying to strive towards the truth even if he were to fail? I Apologize if im bothering in this regard and Maybe what i am saying is wrong and i am completely ignorant in this regard. I understand the Arabic in the Quran 90% of the time without any translation but i need to work on my Grammar. And i have been attending Grammar classes. When i can't find a clear opinion i do taqleed of imam Hadi AS.

No brother I understood you but the matter is not as easy as it seems to you.

The ulama differentiate between itiqad and fiqh in matters of taqleed. In matters of aqidaa it is haram to do taqleed you have to understand the reasoning and to follow the daleel, it doesn’t matter if you are a scholar or not because the masail al iman wa al kufr are too important. In the case of fiqh the scholars say that the ones who have to search for the daleel are the scholars only because you need knowledge of many matters to arrive at the right answer and because a layman doesn’t have this knowledge he cannot actually do ijtihad and arrive at the truth. The masail are to complex. And the same thing goes for tarjeeh of opinions.

This is the stand of the scholars.

But unfortunately because of the spread of salafism and modernism everyone thinks he can do ijtihad and tarjeeh while beeing in the delusion of doing the right thing.

As your knowledge gets deeper and deeper you will arrive at the same conclusion like the scholars. Before that you will only wonder why the scholars preach taqleed to the people.

Wa salam
