In that thread, you said we can say ya Ali to refer to Allah. But obviously the people who say ya Ali are referring to Ali Ibn abi taleb. Do zaydis say ya Ali (Ibn abi taleb) help me? Do they ask the imams for help in dua?

Perhaps our reply in the post was not clear. The post basically states that it is impermissible to address our supplications to anyone other than Allah. We also mentioned in our post that it is NOT the practice of our imams or their followers to even say "Yaa Ali madad!" Consequently, we DO NOT address our imams or anyone else other than Allah.
Hopefully, this makes matters clearer! And Allah knows best!
